Burger Day drives record Uber Eats orders in Chile and steep discounts in Argentina

On May 28 2025, Uber Eats Chile logged more than 50,000 burger orders in a single day, setting a platform record and reflecting the growing popularity of burgers nationwide. The company reported over 10 million burgers sold through its app the previous year, with the highest concentration of orders in Santiago, Valparaíso and Concepción. Verónica Jadue, Uber Chile’s communications manager, said, “The burger has moved beyond a single consumption type and now adapts to all tastes, diets and occasions,” highlighting its broad appeal. To celebrate the International Burger Day, participating restaurants across Chile – from Antofagasta to Viña del Mar and Santiago – offered discounts ranging from 30 % to 50 % and 2 × 1 deals.

In Argentina, the same date saw fast‑food chains launch extensive promotions. McDonald’s offered 2 × 1 on a range of combo meals via its app, while Burger King discounted its Extraburger and Stacker Doble. The local chain BURGER54 sold cheeseburgers for AR$2 500, limited to 50 per store. Additional discounts and specialty burgers were announced by brands such as Mostaza, Mr. Tasty, Casa Dingo and Le Pain Quotidien, many featuring 2 × 1 offers or steep price cuts. These coordinated promotions turned the day into a nationwide bargain‑hunting event for burger lovers in both countries.
