Burger King launches nostalgia‑driven ‘Menu Boomer’ campaign

Burger King introduced a limited‑time “Menu Boomer” offering, also called “Boomer King”, that draws on television shows from the 1980s and 1990s such as *Beverly Hills, 90210*, *Charmed*, *Saved by the Bell* and *Knight Rider*. The campaign was created by the advertising agency Buzzman and features a retro‑style hero film styled after vintage TV opening sequences, complete with period music and visual treatment. The promotion includes themed merchandise like a K‑2000 T‑shirt, a Beverly Hills 90210‑style glass, and a Charmed‑branded mug, aiming at consumers who grew up with those series.

French media commentary notes that the ads rely heavily on stereotypes of the baby‑boomer generation, portraying aging signs such as hair loss, back pain and cardiovascular issues, and questioning whether the humor crosses into caricature. Despite the criticism, the campaign positions the brand toward older consumers with nostalgic branding.
