The footage shows a customer confronting the employee about her appearance, during which she reportedly defended the decision by stating it was acceptable “as long as you have a good heart” and claiming she “just want[ed] to be black.”

The company stated that it takes the matter “very seriously” and noted that the franchisee of the location is addressing the situation with the employee, the manager, and the team. The goal of the internal review is to ensure all staff understand why the appearance is unacceptable and to prevent future occurrences.
