Burger King sued over child assault in restaurant play area
The law firm Parker & McConkie has filed a civil lawsuit against Burger King on behalf of a Boise family. The suit follows the sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl by a stranger inside a restaurant’s indoor play area in October 2024.
The perpetrator has already been convicted of lewd conduct with a minor and received a 45-year prison sentence. The presiding judge described the criminal conduct as “completely brazen” and “shocking.”
The lawsuit alleges that Burger King failed to provide reasonable security and supervision in a space specifically designed and marketed for young children. It further claims the company lacked adequate policies or procedures to protect children using the facility. The legal action asserts that the business failed to implement basic safeguards, such as constant employee monitoring or maintaining separation between adults and children in the play area.
