Burgermeister to expand into Czech Republic with first Prague location

Berlin-based burger chain Burgermeister has announced its expansion into the Czech Republic, with plans to open its first restaurant in Prague in early 2027. The company has selected Wenceslas Square for its debut location, a site situated near the National Museum that sees significant annual foot traffic from tourists and locals.

The Prague opening is intended to serve as a strategic starting point for the company’s long-term growth within the Czech market. The CEO indicated that the brand aims to develop a strong presence in the country through additional locations following the initial launch.

Founded in 2006 in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Burgermeister has grown from a single location in a former public toilet to an international chain with 32 branches across Germany and other European markets. The company utilizes an in-house production model that includes its own bakery to provide freshly prepared burgers and fries.
