Burglary at Brazilian bakery and store causes over R$2,000 loss

In Ribeirão Pires, São Paulo state, a bakery on Rua João de Barros was forced open in the early hours of Wednesday, 29 July. The thieves broke the doors, disabled the alarm and stole approximately R$500 worth of cigarettes, R$200 in cash and a perfume‑cream kit, bringing the total estimated loss to more than R$2,000, not including damage to the doors and locks. The incident was reported to the local police and is under investigation.

In Arraial do Cabo, Rio de Janeiro state, a construction‑materials store in the Figueira district was broken into around 1:15 a.m. on Friday, 31 July. The intruder accessed the cash register and stole an undisclosed amount of money. Police are expected to file a report as the case proceeds.

Both crimes occurred during the night, involved forced entry and theft of cash, and are being investigated by local authorities.
