Burglary incidents reported in Reggio Emilia and Catanzaro
Two separate residential burglaries have been reported in Italy. In Reggio Emilia, a group of thieves targeted a private home in a hilly area belonging to a judge and a public prosecutor. The perpetrators gained entry by forcing an external gate and a ground-floor window. The residence was ransacked, with drawers and cabinets emptied, resulting in the theft of various jewelry and other valuables.
In the province of Catanzaro, specifically near Torre di Ruggiero and Chiaravalle Centrale, five masked individuals broke into a rural home occupied by an elderly couple during the night. The thieves stole approximately 500 euros in cash and 500 euros worth of gold jewelry. During the incident, an elderly woman sustained a leg injury when a wardrobe drawer fell on her; she was subsequently treated at a hospital in Soverato. Carabinieri are investigating both incidents.
