Burgos summer reading points attract over 1,700 users

Summer reading points established by the Burgos City Council at Paseo de la Isla and Capiscol have seen significant engagement. As of August 23, the service recorded 1,749 users and 1,649 total loans.

Newspapers and magazines were the most requested materials, accounting for 1,135 and 426 loans respectively. In terms of literature, the ‘The Housemaid’ saga by Freida McFadden emerged as a popular choice. The Paseo de la Isla location saw higher activity with 1,026 users compared to 723 at Capiscol.

Demographically, adults comprised 83.5% of users, while children made up 16.5%. Acting Mayor Ángel Manzanedo praised the initiative for promoting cultural access during the summer months. The service is scheduled to remain active until August 30.
