Burim Ramadani Calls for Removal of KFOR Static Troops from Mitrovica Bridge
Former Kosovo deputy defence minister Burim Ramadani posted on Facebook that the conditions for withdrawing KFOR’s static presence from the main bridge in Mitrovica have been met. He argued that the bridge should become a symbol of normalisation and public confidence, not a permanent reminder of an extraordinary security situation. Ramadani stressed that local institutions now have the capacity to guarantee safety through patrols, monitoring and rapid response, and that removing the static KFOR deployment would not weaken security but would demonstrate that security has been strengthened. He called the move a step forward for Kosovo’s own security framework and for the trust of its citizens.
