Sophon Saram visits fire victims in Buriram province

Sophon Saram, President of the National Assembly and House of Representatives, visited the Si Sa Rat community in Phutthaisong District, Buriram, to provide aid to families affected by a recent fire. The blaze, which occurred on October 29, damaged 10 households, many of which are occupied by elderly residents living alone.

During the visit, Sophon noted a remarkable occurrence where two portraits of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and the “Baan Terd Thai Ong Rachan” house remained undamaged despite the surrounding destruction. He described this as a reflection of the late King’s grace and protection over the people.

To assist with immediate relief, Sophon provided personal financial aid of 10,000 baht per family, while the Anatphon Saram Foundation contributed an additional 20,000 baht per household. Local authorities, including the Buriram Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, also participated in the relief efforts.
