Buriticá authorities search for missing six-year-old girl

Authorities and emergency services are conducting an extensive search operation for six-year-old Michelle Dayana Henao Chavarría, who has been missing since Monday, August 24, in the municipality of Buriticá, Antioquia.

Michelle was last seen around 10:05 a.m. in the Cristo Rey sector of the urban area. The search has expanded to include rural sectors and difficult-to-access forested areas. To assist in the search, officials are using up to 10 drones for daily flyovers, as well as specialized search dogs and ground patrols involving the Police, Army, and local rescue organizations.

Investigators are also reviewing public and private security footage to reconstruct her last movements. Her family noted that Michelle has autism spectrum disorder and epilepsy, requiring special care and medication, which has increased concerns regarding her well-being.
