Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire launch 2026 cultural festivals emphasizing tradition and wellbeing
The 27th edition of Fitini Show opened on 26 July 2026 at the Théâtre de l’amitié in Bobo‑Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. Organized under the theme of resilience and patriotism, Moussa Dembélé, president of the association Déni Dêmê, thanked Captain Ibrahim Traoré for his support. The festival seeks to promote Burkinabè cultural values among children and youth through competitions in traditional dress, playback, and ballet, with winners such as Zaraou Sanou advancing to the regional final.
The second edition of Siken’Show was announced on 31 July 2026 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Under the theme “Our traditions at the heart of health and wellbeing”, general commissioner Bel‑Ange Beugré said the event will expand to include health panels, cultural contests, social actions and an exhibition village, backed by several ministries. Activities begin on 21 August in Sikensi with community visits, health conferences and other programmes aimed at promoting cohesion and wellbeing.
