Burkina Faso banks undergo strategic shifts and leadership changes
Major banking institutions in Burkina Faso are undergoing strategic shifts and leadership changes. Coris Bank International (CBI-SA) held its 16th strategic retreat in Ouagadougou to address sector challenges. Board Chairman Emmanuel Sawadogo emphasized that future growth must be linked to governance quality and risk management. The bank aims to focus on performance, compliance, and leadership through 2027 to further transform its financial and commercial potential.
Separately, Vista Bank Burkina has appointed Moumounou Gnankambary as its new Director General. Gnankambary, a former Director General of the Treasury and Public Accounting, succeeds Mohamed Ba. His primary mandate is to manage the operational integration and strategic merger with Société Générale Burkina Faso, a move intended to elevate the bank's position within the national banking sector.
