Burkina Faso celebrates Thomas Sankara park inauguration in Rome

A Burkinabè delegation, led by Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouédraogo, arrived in Rome to celebrate the friendship between Burkina Faso and Italy. The mission follows the decision by Rome's third arrondissement municipality to name a local park after the late Burkinabè revolutionary leader, Captain Thomas Sankara.

During the visit, Minister Ouédraogo met with the President of the third arrondissement, Paolo Emilio Marchionne, to express gratitude for the recognition of Sankara’s legacy in the fight against injustice and inequality. The delegation also visited the newly acquired Burkinabè embassy building, a ten-story structure purchased with state funds to house chancery and consular services.
