Burkina Faso Customs reports significant revenue increase
Burkina Faso's Customs Directorate has reported a substantial increase in revenue mobilization. Director General Yves Kafando announced that in October 2026, the agency collected over 141 billion FCFA, exceeding the monthly forecast of 121 billion FCFA by 116 percent.
This performance follows Operation Magnan, an anti-fraud initiative conducted from July 10 to October 15, 2026. Total revenue mobilized reached over 1,231 billion FCFA with two months remaining in the fiscal year, a figure that matches the total budget revenue recorded for the entire 2025 fiscal year.
Kafando credited the results to the professionalism of staff and the effectiveness of anti-fraud measures. The agency aims to continue this momentum under the guidance of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Aboubacar Nacanabo, to support national development and economic protection.
