Burkina Faso inaugurates new National Police headquarters in Tenkodogo
Burkina Faso's Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, officially inaugurated the new headquarters for the National Police Regional Directorate of Nakambé in Tenkodogo on September 28, 2026.
The facility, located in the Goumpoughin district, was constructed at a cost of over 813 million FCFA, funded entirely by the state budget. The complex includes an administrative building, a police station, two detention cells, a guardhouse, and a perimeter wall.
In addition to the regional directorate, the site will house several specialized services, including the Boulgou provincial police directorate, the Regional State Security Service, the Regional Child Protection Brigade, an Interpol regional branch, and a newly created anti-drug unit.
Minister Sana emphasized that the infrastructure is intended to strengthen operational capacities and improve working conditions for security forces. He called on police personnel to maintain professionalism and integrity, urging them to build trust with the local population through better service and community engagement.
