Burkina Faso launches official training for state cadres and public finance specialists
The government of Burkina Faso has launched training sessions for ministry and institutional officials to improve the quality of legal and normative acts. Justice Minister Edasso Rodrigue Bayala stated that the initiative aims to equip officials with the techniques required to draft laws, decrees, and circulars that are clear, coherent, and compliant with both domestic and international legal standards.
Simultaneously, the Institut des finances publiques du Burkina (IFPB) has commenced final thesis defenses for 394 trainees in its Cycle A program. During the inaugural defense, trainee Geoffroy Bayili presented research on Burkina Faso’s public debt dynamics between 2015 and 2024. The study noted that the country's public debt increased from 2,188.5 billion FCFA in 2015 to 8,173.3 billion FCFA in 2024, driven largely by domestic debt due to security and humanitarian needs.
