Burkina Faso Minister visits Sahel States youth military-cultural camp

Annick Pikbougoum, the Minister of Sports, Youth, and Employment, visited the military-cultural camp for adolescents and youth of the Confederation of Sahel States (CMC-AJ) in Loumbila on August 22, 2026.

The camp, held from August 20 to 27, focuses on the theme ‘Resilient youth and engaged patriots at the service of AES sovereignty.’ During her visit, Pikbougoum encouraged participants to remain mobilized and engaged in the construction of the AES space, urging them to take all training modules seriously and maintain the connections formed during the program.

Accompanied by regional and technical officials, including a representative from the Nigerien Ministry of Youth, the Minister emphasized the importance of youth becoming active actors in their countries' futures.
