Burkina Faso ministers visit female-led industrial units
Burkinabè government officials Serge Poda, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts, and Lieutenant-Colonel Pélagie Kaboré, Minister of Family and National Solidarity, visited four female-led industrial units in Ouagadougou on October 16, 2026.
The tour aimed to support female entrepreneurship and promote the consumption of local products. The visited enterprises include Faso Attiéké, which processes cassava; the Société de transformation de produits alimentaires SAID (STPAS), which produces pasta from local wheat; the Association of Dolo Producers of Burkina Faso; and the Odette and Issoufou Cosmetic Laboratory (ODISS), which uses local raw materials for cosmetics.
These initiatives focus on transforming national resources, creating jobs, and diversifying the country's economic offerings. While praising the resilience and creativity of these entrepreneurs, the ministers encouraged them to strengthen their compliance with industry standards.
