Tunisia President Kaïs Saïed reviews recruitment of unemployed graduates

Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed met with Prime Minister Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri and Minister of Employment Riadh Chaouad to review the implementation of Law No. 18 of 2025. This legislation facilitates the exceptional recruitment of long-term unemployed higher education graduates into the public sector and civil service.

During the meeting, Saïed addressed the historical causes of unemployment among graduates, citing past practices such as recruitment based on falsified diplomas, lack of required qualifications, and political favoritism rather than merit. He characterized these previous practices as a misuse of public funds that deprived qualified individuals of their rights. The President reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the recruitment process adheres to principles of sincerity and loyalty to meet the aspirations of the Tunisian people.
