Burkina Faso Prime Minister Ouédraogo Advances Pharmaceutical and Oilseed Growth Poles

On 27 July 2026 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso’s government reviewed progress on two flagship growth‑pole projects: the Integrated Pharmaceutical Technopole at Kokologho and the oilseed processing hub at Bobo‑Dioulasso. Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo said the initiatives are central to the country’s health and food sovereignty, aiming to cut reliance on imports, create jobs and industrialise domestic resources.

He urged stakeholders to use endogenous financing and highlighted institutional, financial, legal, infrastructure and logistical bottlenecks hampering implementation. The committee issued recommendations to accelerate investments, improve coordination among actors and ensure the projects deliver tangible results as part of the 2026‑2030 RELANCE plan.
