Burkina Faso promotes local consumption through national initiatives

Burkina Faso is intensifying efforts to promote local consumption through various national initiatives. The Ministry of Economy and Finance launched a series of activities from October 14 to 16, 2026, aimed at encouraging the use of national products and supporting local producers.

As part of this campaign, the Ministry of Economy and Finance donated 10 tons of rice, 10 tons of maize, and 3,000 traditional fabrics to the Ministry of Solidarity. An exhibition space has also been established to allow local artisans and producers to showcase their expertise and goods.

In the Koosin region, educational staff at the Konkuy-Boho public primary school held awareness sessions during the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC). Speakers emphasized the importance of economic independence through the consumption of locally produced goods, specifically highlighting the rising popularity and pride associated with traditional textiles such as kôkô dunda and Faso Dan Fani.
