The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (ARCOP) of Burkina Faso released its 2025 annual activity report to Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo on October 13, 2026. The report highlights that 5,316 contracts were concluded in 2025, totaling 574.75 billion FCFA. While the number of contracts increased by 18% compared to 2024, their total value saw a decrease of 7%.
Regarding dispute resolution, ARCOP processed 1,149 appeals in 2025, a 16.3% increase from the 988 recorded in 2024. These cases included 746 complaints, 177 conciliation procedures, and 226 disciplinary files. Abdallah Youssef Chahine Traoré, president of the Regulatory Council, noted that the rise in appeals may indicate increased participation in the public procurement system rather than worsening difficulties. The execution rate for decisions stood at 60.41%, with 119 out of 197 decisions implemented.
