Burkina Faso recruits 10,000 volunteers for national development initiatives

The Burkina Faso National Volunteer Program (GIP-PNVB), in partnership with the National Bureau of Great Projects (BN-GPB), has launched three integrated initiatives aimed at community development. The program plans to recruit 10,000 volunteers across the country this year to address specific local needs.

The three initiatives focus on: 1. Road maintenance and rural accessibility using the ‘DO-NOU’ technique. 2. Hygiene, sanitation, and the improvement of living environments. 3. Active citizenship and social cohesion to promote progressive ideals.

As part of these mobilization efforts, volunteers recently planted 78 medicinal plants at the Nafona Regional Scientific High School in Banfora. This reforestation activity is intended to contribute to environmental preservation. To ensure the survival of the plants, the school administration has implemented a strategy where each student is assigned a specific plant to maintain during their studies.
