Burkina Faso to host 2026 WAFU B African Schools Football Championship

Burkina Faso has been selected to host the zonal stage of the 2026 WAFU B African Schools Football Championship in Ouagadougou. The decision follows the withdrawal of Nigeria from its original hosting duties for the Under-15 competition, which was scheduled for December 6 to 9, 2026.

Organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the tournament serves as a platform for grassroots development. The WAFU B zonal tournament is expected to include teams from Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Niger, and Nigeria.

Ghana is set to participate in both the boys’ and girls’ categories. The Ghanaian girls’ team, known as the Black Damsels, will enter the competition as defending continental champions and former WAFU B silver medallists.
