Burkina Faso prepares Nuit de la Révolution for Ibrahim Traoré anniversary

Burkina Faso is preparing for the ‘Nuit de la Révolution Progressiste Populaire’ (RPP), a major event scheduled for September 30, 2026. The celebration marks the fourth anniversary of Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s rise to power.

The event, themed ‘Le Peuple veille sur sa Révolution’, will take place at the Place de la Révolution in Ouagadougou, as well as in various regions and through Burkinabè diplomatic missions abroad. The program is structured into three main segments: a performance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, an official presentation of the government's achievements from 8:00 PM to midnight, and a large-scale concert lasting until 2:00 AM.

Organizers, led by Sougrinoma Ibrahim Guigma, intend for the night to serve as a platform for patriotic exaltation, citizen re-engagement, and a demonstration of support for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). To ensure the event's success, a government delegation led by Minister Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouédraogo recently met with His Majesty the Mogho Naaba to seek traditional blessings and advice.
