Burkina Faso VDPs engage in agricultural production and receive community support

In Burkina Faso, Volontaires pour la Défense de la Patrie (VDP) are engaging in both agricultural and security efforts. In the Kénédougou province, agricultural VDPs in the Banzon commune are expressing optimism for the 2026 campaign. Currently, 25 VDPs are cultivating 11 hectares of land, primarily dedicated to maize and rice. Local officials noted that satisfactory rainfall and strong producer commitment suggest encouraging yields, though producers have requested more timely access to fertilizers.

In the Sourou region, residents of the village of Toarè have provided material and financial support to the VDPs in Tougan to assist in the national territory reconquest effort. The donation, valued at 619,500 F CFA, included rice, spaghetti, oil, and cash. Local authorities described the contribution as a patriotic gesture intended to motivate combatants on the ground.
