Burkina Faso wins three gold medals in AES Games archery
Burkina Faso secured three gold medals in traditional archery during the second edition of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) Games held in Ouagadougou. The competition brought together athletes from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
In the women’s individual category, Burkinabè archer Yeri Jeannette Kambou took first place, ahead of Mali’s Ramatoulaye Traoré. In the men’s individual event, Kopounè Hein from Burkina Faso secured the top position with 36 points.
Burkina Faso also dominated the team events, winning gold in both the women’s team competition and the mixed team category. The archery events were held at the Stade du 4-Août annex field, with men competing at a distance of 25 meters and women at 15 meters.
