Burkina Faso youth initiatives promote peace and civic engagement

Youth organizations and local authorities in Burkina Faso are conducting initiatives to promote social cohesion and civic engagement. In Ouagadougou, the Association Jeunes Faiseurs de Paix (AJFP) held a citizen caravan in the 12th arrondissement to encourage peaceful coexistence and combat community mistrust. Association president Hermann Guingané emphasized the importance of dialogue and unity to overcome social divisions.

In the Léraba province, local officials led a delayed commemoration of International Youth Day in Douna. The event focused on the role and responsibility of Burkinabè youth in building a sovereign confederal space. Participants engaged in tree planting and discussions regarding community challenges, with local leaders calling for solidarity, discipline, and commitment to national development ideals.
