Burkina Faso's BCLCC inaugurates multimedia studio to fight cybercrime

The Central Brigade for the Fight against Cybercrime (BCLCC) has inaugurated a new multimedia studio in Ouagadougou to strengthen public awareness regarding digital risks. The facility was officially opened by Security Minister Mahamadou Sana on September 8, 2026.

Equipped with modern audiovisual tools, the studio is designed to produce educational content aimed at combating fake news and disinformation. The BCLCC intends to use audiovisual capsules to teach citizens how to verify information and develop better reflexes when navigating social media.

Beyond disinformation, the studio will address broader cybersecurity issues, including data protection and safe digital behaviors. This initiative is part of the National Strategy 2025-2029 to modernize responses to digital threats and foster a culture of collective vigilance against the increasing number of cybercrime complaints in the country.
