Burkānciema Music Festival Closing Concert Held in Valmiera, Latvia

The eighth Burkānciema Music Festival concluded with a free outdoor concert in Valmiera, Latvia, on 22 August at 17:00 in the garden of Brīvības iela 7.

The event was organized by the classical music guild Euterpe and supported by the Valmiera municipality, Banner factory and Printsale. It showcased a mix of established and emerging Latvian musicians, including baritone Nauris Indžeris, flautist Ilona Meija, bassist Kristaps Pētersons, pianists Helēna Laukmane and Edgar Raginski, as well as duets and folk‑instrument performers. Poet Margarita Špūle read her poetry and visual works by Ritma Pētersones‑Cepīte were displayed.

Admission was free, emphasizing community participation and cultural exchange, continuing the festival’s tradition of open‑air, garden‑style performances.
