UPN councilman Carlos Oto assaulted in Burlada

UPN (Unión del Pueblo Navarro) has reported a physical and verbal assault against its councilman, Carlos Oto, during the local festivities in Burlada. The incident occurred at the party's headquarters while members and other individuals were gathered for celebrations.

According to the political group, an individual entered the premises, directed insults at the party, and struck Oto in the chest. The councilman required medical attention following the attack. The assailant reportedly shouted slogans such as ‘UPN kanpora’ and used derogatory language. Police intervened to resolve the situation.

UPN condemned the act as ‘unacceptable in democracy’ and called for universal condemnation of such violence against public representatives. The party also attributed the aggression to the ‘radical abertzale’ sector and criticized the government for calling for coexistence without explicitly condemning these types of violent incidents.
