Burlington Baroque Festival announces 2026 program
The third annual Burlington Baroque Festival is scheduled to take place from September 17 to September 20, 2026, in Burlington, Vermont. Under the direction of Eric Milnes, the festival will feature five performances across three venues, including the College Street Congregational Church, the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, and the University of Vermont Recital Hall.
The event will showcase internationally acclaimed Artists-in-Residence, including the L’Harmonie des saisons Baroque Orchestra, Boston’s Blue Heron Renaissance Ensemble, and the Burlington Baroque Festival Singers. The repertoire includes works such as Bach’s B Minor Mass and music by Charpentier, Lully, Rebel, and Brossard.
Founded in 2024, the ensemble focuses on reviving sacred music performed in a historically informed style using period instruments. The programming is closely tied to the liturgical year, aiming to bridge faith and music through masterworks such as Handel’s Israel in Egypt and St. John Passion.
