Burlington Stores to move corporate headquarters to Philadelphia

Burlington Stores has announced it will relocate its corporate headquarters from New Jersey to West Philadelphia. The retailer plans a $370 million investment to establish its new base in the Schuylkill Yards development at 3151 Market Street.

Pennsylvania will contribute $30 million toward the move, which is expected to create at least 2,000 jobs over the next five years. The transition will involve moving approximately 1,500 employees from New Jersey to Philadelphia, with an additional 500 new hires anticipated. The relocation process is expected to occur in stages, with the first movements not scheduled until late 2028.

CEO Michael O’Sullivan cited Philadelphia’s talent, infrastructure, and economic vision as primary drivers for the decision. While the headquarters is moving, Burlington Stores intends to maintain its retail presence in New Jersey, where it continues to operate dozens of locations and distribution facilities.
