Burnley advances in EFL Cup after penalty shootout win over Notts County

Burnley advanced to the next round of the EFL Cup after defeating Notts County in a penalty shootout. The match ended in a 1-1 draw during regulation time.

Callum Roberts scored for Notts County in the 42nd minute, but Zian Flemming equalized for Burnley shortly after the second half began in the 48th minute. Burnley eventually won the penalty shootout 4-3.

Peruvian defender Oliver Sonne started the match and played 67 minutes before being substituted. He did not participate in the penalty shootout.
