Burnley Targets Nice Defender Kojo Peprah Oppong and Lille Midfielder Ugo Raghouber

Burnley FC has intensified its summer transfer activity, focusing on two French players. The club is preparing a bid for OGC Nice centre‑back Kojo Peprah Oppong, whose breakout 2025/26 season in Ligue 1 and appearances at the World Cup have raised his market value to between €10 million and €15 million (approximately £8‑13 million). Nice originally signed him for €2.3 million from Norrköping, and the French side is under financial pressure to generate roughly €70 million before the 2026‑27 campaign, making a sale attractive.

In parallel, Burnley is close to finalising the signing of 23‑year‑old defensive midfielder Ugo Raghouber from Lille OSC. The transfer fee is expected to be around €5 million. Raghouber spent the previous season on loan at Levante before being linked with a move to England, and Burnley’s new coach Nicky Hayen has stressed the need for midfield reinforcements. Both deals would address the squad gaps left by the departure of Maxime Estève to RB Leipzig and the limited depth in midfield.

If completed, the acquisitions would bolster Burnley’s defensive line and midfield ahead of the Championship season.
