Burnley eyes AEK Athens left‑back James Penrice

English Championship side Burnley have made enquiries about signing James Penrice, the 26‑year‑old left‑back currently playing for AEK Athens. Penrice, who was voted the best left‑back in the Scottish league last season and helped AEK win the Greek championship, is listed among the club’s transfer targets.

AEK have indicated they are open to selling the defender, noting that the club paid roughly €1.8 million for his acquisition from Heart of Midlothian.
