Burnley submits opening bid for Feyenoord defender Anel Ahmedhodzic

Burnley has officially contacted Feyenoord to express interest in defender Anel Ahmedhodzic and has submitted an opening bid for the 27-year-old Bosnian international.

Ahmedhodzic, who previously played for Sheffield United before moving to the Dutch side last summer, has seen a decline in playing time under Feyenoord's new manager, Giovanni van Bronckhorst. While he was a regular starter last season, he has not yet played a minute this season.

Burnley faces competition for the defender from other English clubs, including Southampton and Sheffield United, who are also monitoring his situation. Ahmedhodzic is currently under contract with Feyenoord until mid-2029.
