Burnout affects 92% of employees in Mexico
A recent study by Wellhub indicates that 92% of employees surveyed in Mexico have experienced symptoms of occupational burnout within the last year. This professional exhaustion is linked to a lack of awareness regarding labor rights; a survey by OCC found that 76% of 1,000 participants possess only basic, scarce, or no knowledge of their legal protections.
Luz María Moreno of Pentafon HR Solutions noted that this issue threatens both worker well-being and corporate stability, potentially leading to higher turnover and increased conflict. The situation is particularly relevant as Mexico prepares for a gradual reduction of the maximum workweek to 40 hours by 2030.
Middle management is identified as a particularly vulnerable group. According to Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2026 report, 45% of managers report experiencing high daily stress levels, compared to 39% of non-leadership employees. Managers face unique pressures, including the responsibility of executing corporate strategy while managing multi-generational teams and balancing the expectations of both upper management and subordinates.
