Burns Lake Terry Fox Run marks 46 years of fundraising

The annual Burns Lake Terry Fox Run celebrated its 46th year on September 20 at the Francois Lake Community Hall. The event, which began in 1981, saw residents participate through running, biking, and walking to support cancer research.

Organizers reported that the day’s proceeds reached $13,804, bringing the community’s all-time contribution to the Terry Fox Foundation to approximately $510,000. The volunteer-led event included live entertainment, refreshments, and a silent auction featuring donations from local residents and organizations.
