Burriana council approves credit changes for smart bike parking and sports centre renovation
The Burriana City Council will vote on two credit modifications at its August 6 plenary session. One amendment of €80,950, co‑financed by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) and EU Regional Development Funds (FEDER), will fund two smart‑parking modules for bicycles and personal mobility vehicles at the railway station. The system will provide 40 digital, charge‑enabled spaces managed via a mobile app and is slated to be operational by 2027, aiming to cut private‑car trips, save 168 M kWh of energy and avoid roughly 50.6 t of CO₂ emissions.
A second amendment of €212,035.74 will advance the comprehensive renovation of the municipal Poliesportiu Sant Blai. The near‑€1 million project, funded by the Diputación de Castellón, the Plan Impulsa scheme and municipal resources, will improve accessibility, repair chronic leaks and modernise facilities such as façades, seating, locker rooms and equipment. The works are expected to begin after the technical assistance contract, valued at €84,700, is awarded.
