Burriana implements safety and prevention initiatives during local festivities

The Burriana City Council has reported a positive reception for the ‘Espai Segur’ initiative during the 2026 Patron Saint festivities of La Misericordia. This specialized space integrates a ‘Punto Violeta’ to combat violence against women and a ‘Punto Verde’ for addiction prevention.

Operating with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, and social educators, the program provides information, awareness, and support to ensure a safe and healthy leisure environment. The initiative offers immediate, confidential assistance regarding harassment, violence against women, and chemical submission.

Community engagement has been high through interactive activities such as ‘El Muro del Buen Trato’ (The Wall of Good Treatment) and ‘El Árbol de las Buenas Decisiones’ (The Tree of Good Decisions), which encourage respectful coexistence and responsible decision-making during the celebrations.
