Burriana to cancel over 4 million euros in bank debt

The city of Burriana is preparing to eliminate its entire bank debt through a credit modification to be presented at the plenary session on October 1. The initiative aims to cancel more than 4 million euros in liabilities, including loans, interest, and financial expenses.

This move is intended to achieve “zero debt,” ensuring future financial stability and increasing the municipality's liquidity. Improved treasury management is expected to allow the local administration to shorten payment terms for suppliers. If approved, Burriana will become one of the few municipalities in the province of Castellón without bank charges, distinguishing itself from many smaller towns in the region that also carry no debt.
