Burriana to develop 48 social housing units on municipal land
The Burriana City Council has approved an agreement with the Valencian Housing and Land Entity (EVha) to manage the technical procedures and public bidding for a municipal plot located at 21 Roberto Roselló Gasch street. The 759 m² site is designated for the construction of approximately 48 social housing units (VPP).
Under the Plan Vive Comunitat Valenciana, the project aims to address the rising demand for affordable housing, specifically targeting young people in the Plana Baixa region. The agreement utilizes a swap mechanism, allowing the municipality to integrate the commercial premises built on the land into its public assets.
While EVha will conduct feasibility studies and oversee the selection of construction companies, the Burriana City Council will retain urban planning competencies and facilitate necessary licenses. Additionally, the Municipal Plenary has approved a 50% tax reduction on the Construction, Installations, and Works Tax (ICIO) for social housing to incentivize development.
