Burrito Madre to expand fast-casual Mexican chain into Romania
Burrito Madre, a fast-casual restaurant brand specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine, is set to enter the Romanian market. The first location is scheduled to open in Bucharest's Mega Mall on October 26, 2026, with an initial investment of approximately $400,000.
Owned by Street Guys Hospitality, the brand aims to establish a network of 20 units across Romania within the next five years. Planned expansion locations include Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara, Constanța, Brașov, and Ploiești. The company expects to create over 300 direct jobs nationwide as the network grows.
The menu focuses on customizable items such as burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, and salads, utilizing fresh ingredients including marinated meats and grilled vegetables. Ivan Iricanin, founder and CEO of Street Guys Hospitality, noted that Romania was selected due to its market size and logistical proximity to the company's existing operations in Serbia. The brand intends to use local Romanian suppliers for its ingredients.
