Bursa: 367 people seek medical help after mass poisoning at celebration
A mass food poisoning incident occurred during a traditional circumcision celebration in the Karıncalı settlement of the Orhaneli district, Bursa province, Turkey. Approximately 367 guests sought medical assistance after experiencing symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and dizziness.
The celebration hosted around 500 guests who were served a meal consisting of chicken and rice. Health authorities reported that while many patients were treated and released, 23 individuals remained hospitalized in stable condition. No life-threatening cases have been reported.
Health and inspection services, in cooperation with the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, have launched a detailed investigation. Officials have collected samples of both the food served and the water to determine the exact cause of the illness. Administrative and judicial investigations are also underway.
