Turkey utility maintenance causes widespread power and water outages
Multiple cities across Turkey are experiencing widespread planned utility disruptions due to infrastructure maintenance, network upgrades, and repairs.
In İzmir, GDZ Elektrik has scheduled electricity outages across various districts, including Aliağa, Bergama, Menemen, and Seferihisar, to facilitate grid maintenance and capacity increases. Simultaneously, the İzmir Water and Sewerage Administration (İZSU) has announced water supply interruptions in several districts such as Aliağa, Bayraklı, Buca, and Urla due to main pipe failures and infrastructure works.
Other major cities are also affected. Ankara is facing electricity outages in ten districts, including Çankaya and Keçiören, for grid strengthening. In Bursa, BUSKİ has scheduled water outages in Nilüfer, Osmangazi, and Yıldırım for maintenance. Trabzon is seeing electricity disruptions across ten districts, while Antalya's Alanya and surrounding areas are undergoing planned power maintenance.
Authorities advise residents to prepare by charging portable devices, unplugging sensitive electronics, and storing water in advance to mitigate the impact of these scheduled service interruptions.
