Bursa and Manisa municipalities launch women's heritage tour programs
The Gemlik municipality in Bursa province organized cultural tours for around 30 women, visiting historic sites such as Bursa Ulu Camii, Yeşil Camii, Emir Sultan Camii and the Muradiye complex. Municipal officials highlighted the tours as a way to strengthen social cohesion and encourage women's active participation in community life.
In Manisa, the metropolitan municipality reported that 9,714 women from 17 districts took part in similar cultural trips between January and June 2026. Destinations included Pamukkale, the ancient sites of Ephesus and Şirince, as well as Çanakkale. The program aims to deepen women's connection to Turkey’s cultural heritage and promote more active involvement in social activities.
Both initiatives are coordinated by the respective municipal cultural and social affairs departments and are planned to continue throughout the year, expanding to additional neighborhoods and districts.
