Bursa Bizim Platformu calls for urgent workshop on motorcycle safety

The Bursa Bizim Platformu has released a comprehensive report titled ‘Motorcycle Traffic and Driving Safety Standards in Bursa’ to address the rising number of motorcycle accidents and unregulated riding in the region.

The report identifies several critical safety risks, including a lack of inspections, insufficient driver training, inadequate infrastructure, and the prevalence of motorcycles without license plates. It specifically highlights how social media has incentivized dangerous behavior, noting that videos featuring high speeds, stunts, and evading police have become a source of income for some creators, thereby encouraging reckless riding among young people.

In response to these growing concerns, the platform, led by founder Ferit Gürsoy, has called on relevant authorities to organize an urgent ‘Traffic Safety Workshop.’ Proposed solutions include removing unlicensed motorcycles from the streets, creating dedicated motorcycle parking areas, and taking legal action against social media accounts that profit from sharing dangerous driving content.
