Bursa dairy farms utilize AI and smart chips for European-standard production

Dairy producers in the Yenişehir district of Bursa, Turkey, are utilizing advanced technology to meet European production standards. Modern farms in the region, such as the one operated by Ahmet İçöz, have maintained ‘Ari İşletme’ (disease-free enterprise) status since 2019.

These operations employ artificial intelligence and smart chips implanted in the animals' stomachs to monitor health, feed consumption, pregnancy, and even precise birth times 24/7 via mobile devices. This technological integration allows for immediate intervention regarding animal health, which enhances both animal welfare and milk quality.

The facilities undergo routine inspections by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to ensure hygiene and reliability. While producers expressed satisfaction with current government support, they noted that increasing raw milk subsidies would further strengthen the sector's sustainability.
